A conundrum because the jam doughnut was in 1993, not listed with Guinness. The watering can at the zoo was in 2000. Utica, an enigma!

I’m hoping it was the jelly donut instead of the watering can. Give me donuts any day!!

Yeah, I’m with Mama G – looks like the watering can was 2000 and the jelly doughnut was 2003. Either way the yarn looks yummy!!

watering can! It is rumored it has a long distance romance with the Smithsonian’s typewriter eraser, (Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen) mostly sonnets and weepy love letters.

    Just saying…

Hmm…a bit of google searching…I am going with Jam donut….kind of goes with the visual of the yarn & the center being the filling!

Jam Doughnut – nothing says Utica like a Huge Jam Doughnut! What’s next? A huge cup of coffee to go with it? Count me in!

  28. Going with Jam Doughnut, which sounds really gross (sorry). 🙂

It is quite gross – unless you’re about 5 yrs. old and into interactive, messy eating! I can say this because I live near and work in Utica, NY.

So I am going with the jam doughnut since the watering can was in 2000 for the zoo. Seems to be some mixed answers in online trivia world for this one, but I will believe the Utica Library.😉 What troubles me is that no one said how big the jam doughnut was. Quite sad about that.

Lol. Gorgeous yarn; it may be my favorite so far!

I live near Utica, NY and work in Utica, NY and can definitely say, with confidence, that it was the Jelly Bun (jam donut), The watering can, though quite large, is not the answer. It resides at the Utica Zoo.

The jelly bun (jam donut) is a seasonal treat here in Utica. February is the official “Jelly Bun” month here in Utica and the commercial for themn features local celebrities eating them and getting white powder all over their darkest clothes while getting powder and jam “moustaches”.
